We reveal only the last digits of your credit card numbers when confirming an order. Of course, we transmit the entire credit card number to the appropriate credit card processor.

Orders are typically filled and shipped within 24 hours of receipt. Due to stock shortages, some items may be back ordered and ship at a later date. F.D. Sterritt Lumber Company Inc. reserves the right to ship partial orders or hold an order for complete shipment at our sole discretion. Prior to back ordering an item or partial shipping an order F.D. Sterritt Lumber Company Inc. will either contact you for instructions before shipping or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation.

·         Order Cancellation                                     

F.D. Sterritt Lumber Company Inc.’s, web site does not offer on-line order cancellation. To cancel an order, please contact our order department at (617) 923-5200 within 24 business hours of placing your order.

·         Order Status                                                    

To check on the status of your order, please contact our store at (617) 923-5200 during normal business hours.

·         Shipping Fees                                         

Shipping fees calculated on our web site are approximate based on information provided by UPS. We cannot confirm the shipping fees until your order enters the shipping process. Despite our best efforts, a small number of orders have incorrect shipping fees. Rest assured, however, that we verify these fees as part of our shipping procedures.

If an order's correct shipping fee is lower than the calculated fee, we charge the lower amount and ship you the order.

If an order's correct shipping fee is higher than the calculated fee, we will, at our discretion, either contact you for instructions before shipping or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation.

Back ordered items shipped separately will be shipped based on the original requested ship method and charged a separate shipping fee. We will contact you for instructions before shipping or cancel your back order.

The shipping rates for many items we sell are weight-based. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the next full pound.

·         Returns                                                  

Within 30 days of receipt of your shipment (including gifts), you may return any stock item, for a full refund with the original receipt number (we'll also refund the shipping cost if the return is a result of our error): Product must be in good condition, inside the original package, and resaleable.  Special Orders, cuts, rips, or threading are not returnable Items. Items are not returnable if they are in un-sellable condition, or are missing parts.

We will notify you via email of your refund once we have received and processed the returned item. You can expect a refund in the same form of payment originally used for purchase within 7 to 14 business days of our receiving your return. Please note that we can refund shipping costs only if the return is a result of our error.

·         Payment Processing                        

All payments are in advance and by credit card. Your card is charge only for the items that are shipped, plus shipping and handling charges. All Special Order or Custom Orders require a deposit or payment in full, based on the nature of the order.

Online payments can be made by you with a credit card or ACH only.  Online payments can be made on F.D. Sterritt Lumber Company, Inc. accounts if you ask for us to open your account to the Online Store and you establish a password.

Acceptable Forms of Payment:  Your own Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, or ACH payment. Debit cards that can be used as charge cards will be accepted. F.D. Sterritt Lumber Company Inc.’s website has information encryption capabilities that offer reliable protection from unauthorized access and provide cardholders with the safest way to pay online.  Email is a non-secure way for transmitting information and should not be used to transmit card account numbers or other sensitive information.
